PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma, the part of your own blood that carries growth factors. It is used for hair fall and thinning in both men and women.
PRP is one of the most widely used and well-researched treatments for hair fall. It has been shown to help hair grow thicker and fuller.
PRP can be combined with the hair medication your doctor prescribes, and the two tend to work better together.
The PRP is prepared from a small sample of your own blood, with nothing synthetic added. There are no cuts or stitches, and most people go back to their day afterwards.

GFC is the stronger of the two, and it is what our team usually suggests when the budget allows. PRP still gives real results, more gradually, and it is a sound choice if you want to start at a lower cost. Either way, your hair is assessed first at a free consultation.
If you have smooth, bald areas, PRP or GFC alone is usually not enough. Dr. Sajida Ali performs hair transplants at Facetalks. Ask about hair transplant.

Ask us on WhatsApp05 — Procedure
Sessions are carried out by Dr. Sajida's trained clinical team, using sterile, single-use tubes and syringes.
A small blood sample is drawn into 4 tubes, much like a routine blood test.
The tubes are spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma.
The PRP is drawn into fine syringes and injected into the thinning areas of your scalp.
A microneedling pen is then run over the same areas to finish the session.
Hair grows slowly, so PRP results build gradually over a few months.
Month 1
Your first sessions. Some scalp tenderness after each one is normal, and a little extra shedding early on can happen and is usually temporary.
Months 2–3
Many people start noticing less hair on the pillow and in the shower as the sessions add up.
Months 3–6
Thinning areas start to look thicker and better covered. This is when the change is usually easiest to see.
After Your Course
Results fade without upkeep, so occasional maintenance sessions are planned with you.
Results vary from person to person and depend on the cause and stage of your hair loss.

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. A small sample of your own blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate the part that is rich in platelets and growth factors. This is injected into your scalp and followed with a microneedling pen, to support weak hair roots, reduce hair fall, and improve thickness over a course of sessions. See the procedure.
Because PRP comes from your own blood, serious reactions are uncommon. The most common side effect is short-lived soreness where the scalp was treated. Redness, mild swelling, a tight feeling, or a mild headache can also happen and usually settle within a few days. PRP is generally not suitable if you have a low platelet count or bleeding disorder, take blood thinners, have an active scalp infection, or are pregnant. Our care guide covers what to avoid.
Yes, PRP works for most people with early to moderate thinning, and it is well researched. There is no single success rate, because results depend on the cause and stage of your hair loss. We tell you honestly what to expect for your hair at your free consultation. See the month-by-month timeline.
GFC is the stronger of the two and usually gives better results sooner, which is why it costs more. PRP still gives results, more gradually, at a lower cost per session. See PRP or GFC compared, or our GFC hair treatment page.
They do different jobs. A transplant moves hair into bald areas, while PRP supports the hair you still have. PRP is often used alongside a transplant to look after the existing hair. Dr. Sajida Ali performs hair transplants at Facetalks, so she can advise on your case. Ask us about hair transplant.
No. PRP supports the hair you have, but it does not treat the hormonal cause of pattern hair loss, so the benefit fades over time without upkeep. Occasional maintenance sessions after the main course help hold your results. Your own maintenance plan is discussed at consultation.
We usually recommend 6 to 8 sessions, taken 21 to 30 days apart. The exact number depends on how your hair responds and is confirmed at your free consultation. On a package, free LED light and anti-dandruff therapy are done about every 7 days in between.
The blood draw feels like a routine blood test. The scalp injections cause brief, pinprick-like discomfort that most people handle well, and some soreness afterwards is common. Tell our team if you are anxious about needles and we will talk you through your comfort options.
Yes. PRP is used for pattern hair thinning in both men and women, and the procedure is the same. It has been shown to help women with thinning hair too. Hair fall in women can also come from thyroid issues, nutrition, or stress, so that is checked at your free consultation before any treatment is suggested.
In most cases, yes. PRP does not address the hormonal side of pattern hair loss, so doctors commonly pair it with prescribed hair medication, and the two tend to work better together. Tell us what you are using at your consultation. Our care guide covers what to pause around each session.
PRP works on hair roots that are still active, so it generally suits early to moderate thinning best. Our hair loss stage guide describes each stage for men and women. For smooth, bald areas, a hair transplant is usually the better route.
At Facetalks, PRP hair treatment is ₹2,999 per session, plus 5% GST, under our current offer. Packages cost less per session and include free add-ons. See full pricing.
Yes. For skin, we offer PRP from your own blood with microneedling. See our Vampire Facial page for details.
